A couple of years ago, we had to give up our office space on campus in Edina and I had to start working from home. This was OK during the pandemic, but I am not a good work-from-home person. Too many distractions – play with Bella, do some laundry, have a snack, have another snack, and my recliner is right there – maybe I need a quick power nap. So, I’m happy that they provided an office for me here.
My colleague, Andrew, gave me the fan from his office – very kind of him, and so much appreciated because I am still adjusting to the heat and humidity. So when I was out today, I bought another fan so we will both have one. His office is just outside my office.
My window overlooks one of the roads coming onto campus and just across the road is a dirt field where children play football (soccer). One of my favorite sounds is kids playing outside – big playing – sports, swinging, tag, four-square, pole-monopoly (no one will know that one except Linda Nager Garret). I love that sound, so this is the perfect location for my office.
